Claire's Mood - Mellow/Crazy

Hello everyone,

This is another swatch I did back in September 2011. We've had a great sunny and warm September... too bad I didn't do more swatches then...

Claire's Mood polishes are not available in France and on no website shipping to Europe. And I was so curious about these "Mood" polishes, I had to have one. I've hence purchased this one on ebay (in the UK, I guess, don't remember exactly).
It is a nice polish, I really like the color smoothly changing from pink to purple. But one has to have long nails in order to clearly see the color changing. My nails were quite long, but I guess not long enough... you can see it, but it is not that obvious.
What I disliked about this polish was the rough finish and the sheerness.

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Claire's Mood - Mellow/Crazy, no top coat:

In conclusion:

Application: 3/5
Formula: 3/5
Finish: 2/5
Drying time: 4/5
Opacity: 2/5

Overall: 2.8/5

Thank you everyone for watching!

Hugs!

OPI - Sparrow Me the Drama + another pirate face ;)

Hello everyone,

Aah... It's sooo good to be on vacation!  ;D I don't have any alarm set on my clock, I do whatever I want! Yaaaaay!!!! ;D

Today I'll be showing you the 4th polish of the Pirates of the Caribbean collection: Sparrow Me the Drama.
Cute, cute, cute pink! I really love this shade. It is not bright at all, I could even call it dusty, and I also think it has a touch of lilac in it. The application was very good, in spite of the watery formula, a general characteristic of the entire collection. It is opaque in 2 coats and the drying time was OK.

So here I'm wearing 2 coats of OPI Sparrow Me the Drama + 1 coat of Seche Vite:

And finally, the pirate dedicated to this polish ( again, I used a Peggy Sage black nail art pencil):

Thank you, everyone, for watching!

See ya soon!!!
Big hugs!!!

China Glaze- Ahoy! vs. China Glaze - Strawberry Fields

Hello everyone,

As I promised, here is the post dedicated  to the comparison between China Glaze ahoy! and Strawberry Fields.
Here are the babies (oh, I love them both! :) ):

Strawberry Fields (SF) on the Left and Ahoy! (A!) in the Right.

The formula of these two are is very similar. The same consistency, but I found that for some unknwn reason, Ahoy! applied a tad bit better than ST.
As you can see already from the previous pictures, the fist big difference is that Ahoy! is a a little darker than Strawberry Fields... or, if you prefer.. a little more toward fuchsia than ST.
The second big difference is that ST has gold shimmer, while Ahoy! has fuchsia shimmer inside it.

I've applied 2 coats of each, and both are opaque with 2 coats, both very shiny and sparky.
Here L've applied ST on my index and ring, and Ahoy! on my middle and pinkie:

In this picture you can also see (if enlarged) the gold shimmer for the ST(middle) and the fuchsia one for A!(ring).

I conclusion, these beauties are certainly not dupes. But the resemblance is obvious. If you like more daring and stronger colours, I'd say, go for Ahoy!. If you you are inclined more towards light pinks, fruity colours, go for Strawberry Fields.
But me... I cannot pick a favourite, I love them both!!! :D What a polish junkie like me can do?? Well...get them both :D

See ya soon!!!
Big hugs!! :)

China Glaze - Ahoy!

Hello everyone!

How you've been doing? Here we are, on my favourite day of the week: Friday ;D An entire weekend ahead of me :)
To celebrate that, let me give you another pink polish! (the 5th in a row?)
We've had a few rays of sun light this morning in Toulouse, so I jumped on my Ahoy! and on my camera and here we are: the gorgeous China Glaze Ahoy! from the China Glaze spring 2011 collection.
It's a polish that has a lot in common with China Glaze Strawberry Fields. A lot, and I'll be doing a direct comparison in a next post.

This is wonderful pink, almost fuchsia pink with a lot of fuchsia shimmer inside it. it applies very well and for me it's opaque in 2 coats. The finish just wonderful! Shiny, smooth and sparky at the same time.
I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Ahoy!, no top coat:

And in direct sun light:

A blurry one so that you can see better this gorgeous spark..

I'll see you dearest follwers very soon!
Until then: big hugs! ;)

Orly Cupcake

Hello everyone!

So this is going to be very short post beacause I really have to go to work... Today I'm gonna quit my job so.. it's big day ;) Don't worry, I've got a better one starting in October  ;)

Now about the polish: this is another pink for my Pink Week ;):  Orly Cupcake.
Very, very cute light pink cream, with a touch of greay, which makes it look like pink sugar coat :D
The application was OK, not spectacular nut OK (I've seen better). It's opaque in 2 thick coats. I really love this colour, I'm sure I'm gonna wear it again!

Here are the pictures. Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Orly Cupcake, no top coat:

See ya soon!!!

Big hugs everyone! ;)

China Glaze - Strawberry Fields + ... strawberries ;)

Hello everyone,

My pink madness continues .. :D

Here is China glaze Strawberry Fields. The famous! Yes, I've seen this on many blogs, but the one that convinced me to buy it, was Liz's blog (Liquid Jelly). She also did some amazing stuff with this polish, one of which was my inspiration for today nail art part ;)

Strawberry Fields is indeed a gorgeous polish, a beautiful pink -> (straw)berry - pink! It makes me think of a strawberry sorbet :D Yum! :P And it's got this incredible gold shimmer in it that gives it a "sun kiss" and an unique spark. I just love it.
It applies well, but his younger brother Ahoy! applies a little bit better.
Too bad my nails are shorter right now...maybe the polish would look better if I had longer nails... I'll probably re-swatch it later.

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Strawberry Fields, no top coat (dries quickly!):

And here are the STRAWBERRIES! :D I felt like playing a bit with my polishes :D So for this design I've just used a thin painting brush... and nail polish! :)
For the "leafs" I used Deborah - I's Evergreen, and for the "seeds" I used Deborah again, but this time the shade called "Yellow Fiz" (swathed here, an Orly Lemonade dupe, but of better quality in my opinion).

Sorry about the picture spam ;)

Oh well, I guess I'll be doing a pink week, what do you think?  My pink mood is not over yet :D LOL
I also have to swatch China Glaze Ahoy! and I'll do a comparison between the two (they are very similar, but no, they are not dupes).

And oh, my sweetest followers, the ones who follow me and I don't follow you, please write me an e-mail or leave me a comment with the url of your blog. I usually look into your profiles to get the link to your blog. Some of you don't have it, so if you want, leave me a comment. It will be my pleasure to follow you too ;)
