OPI - Sapphire in the Snow

Hello everyone,

This has been a very busy week for me, working late and everything... And it's so cold outside, and it seems to me that it's going to last forever... Lost my little avocado-tree because of the freezing weather - well, ok, ok, I  know its' my fault I didn't bring it inside before it got completely frozen...  oh, well, enough with my talk! Let's get to the polish I'd like to show you today: OPI Sapphire in the Snow! Gorgeous!

I know this is another oldie, but I've got quite a few in collection ;) From the swatches I've seen on different blogs I think last OPI fall collection Road House Blues is very similar to this one.

It's an indigo cream, in some lights is more blue than purple, in other light i' more purple than blue. I just love complex colours like this. The application is very good, and you'll certainly need 2 coats to get it fully opaque - some perfectionists would like maybe 3.The drying time is correct.

As I'm far from being a perfectionist (while I do like things well done), I only did 2 coats, and I guess it came out pretty OK (except a little bald spot on my ring nail - thank you for ignoring :-) ).

In the shade

In the sun

And again in the sun
I don't know what's wrong with me, 'cause I've been so much into glitter layering lately... so I've added a coat of OPI Last Friday Night on top of my middle and ring nails:

In conclusion:

Application: 4.5/5
Formula: 3.5/5
Finish: 4/5
Drying time: 4/5
Opacity: 3.5/5

Overall: 3.9/5

Thank you everyone for watching!

Hugs!

Zoya Faye

 Hello everyone,

How you've been doing? Me... oh it's hard being on a vacation ;D (not)!
Sorry for the long blogging pause, but I've had some very busy days lately.

Today I'd like to show you the last of the Zoya Sunshine collection polish I've purchased, and it's a wonder! So beautiful and sparky! The application was very smooth, not problem at all and it's opaque in two coats.
The base is a lavender purple with lot of sparkling gold shimmer inside!

So, here I'm wearing 2 coats of Zoya Faye, not top coat:

What was you favourite polish from this collection? For me... I think it was Reva followed by Faye, then Apple and Tanzy.

Thank you so much for watching!

See ya soon!
Hugs everyone!

Zoya Areej

Hello everyone,

I'm on holiday!!! Yaaay!!! :D I've been to the seaside on these past 2 days, and it was sooo great! :D Too bad here in Toulouse there's a storm going on right now and the sky was and will be gray all the weekend...
BUT, my holidays are not over yet, they've just beagun ;D On Monday I'll be going to my country to see my parents and I'll be there until the 24th of August ;) But that doesn't mean no posts: I'll be having my camera with me, some nice and new nail polishes and Internet access... and up we go ;)

Today I have for you the last of the 4 Zoyas from the Summertime collection 2011: Zoya Areej.
Like her sisters from the collection, this too applied excellently, and I can say that is almost a one coater. Excellent formula, great shiny finish! I also love the colour, which is a dusty fuchsia, more purple than pink. Great shade, in my opinion!

Here I applied 2 coats of Zoya Areej, no top coat (great shine, humm? :))

And for an accent finger I tried to put a coat of Zoya Faye on my ring:

Thank you, everyone, for watching!

See ya soon!!!

OPI - Planks A Lot

Hello everyone,

So here we are, on the 1st of August 2011 (well it's actually 00h10)! My giveaway is officially closed. the winner will be announced tomorrow evening.
Thank you so much, all of you who entered it and a big welcome to you, my newest followers! It's a pleasure to have here! Thank you! I hope there will be many more to come! ;)

Today I'll be showing you the famous OPI Planks A Lot. This is such nice light purple cream! Though it is not my favourite of the collection, and it never said anything to me in the bottle, one on the the nail I really like it! And I think I'm going to wear this (Planks) A Lot! ;) The application was OK, and the drying time very good too. I've heard that pastels are not very easy to apply, but I think that this has a very nice formula. A little warety, which makes it impossible to use with Konad, but the application for a normal mani is good.

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of OPI Planks a Lot  + 1 coat of Seche Vite:

And the usual pirate of the Caribbean! I used Peggy Sage's black pen and Claire's two way nail art pen and brush, in silver:

Thank you everyone for watching!

See ya soon!

OPI - Ink Suede

Hello everyone,

Hope you're doing fine... here the October rainy day continues... I need to watch the calendar from time to time in order to reassure myself that we are really in July...

Today I'll be showing you one of the nicest polishes ever: OPI Ink Suede! This is suuuch a gorgeous polish!
While I think that its application is quite tricky, I think the results worth the pain ;)
At first I applied 2 coats of polish, one on top of the other without an intermediate fast drying lacquer.. and it was a disaster! :) Just like all velvet polishes, this one was no exception in giving trouble with the application and major streakyness... It is then that decided to follow Liz's advice and apply a coat of Seche Vite in between the two polish coats.
So: one cot of polish, one coat of Seche Vite, then, the 2nd coat of polish.
I think it worked quite well, here are the pics:

After that, the "picasso mood" stroked me again :)
I applied a little bit of Zoya Faye on my tips...

And then added some Konad Stamping using Deborah - Yellow Fiz :) I know that the result is not very clear and neat as with using special Konad polish. And this is were I've decided that my next purchase will be some special stamping polish...

Thank you for watching!

See ya soon, everyone!
Hugs!!! <3

Catrice - Dirty Berry

Hello everyone,

So this is the first nail polish I'll be showing you from my swap with Stéphanie from So Nailed! And I gotta say that this is a dream come true!!! This was one of my greatest lemmings, and here it is: on my nails! :)
I think that the pictures will never be able to show its true beauty... it is just gorgeous!
This is my first Catrice ever, and I'm totally charmed by this little brand made in Luxembourg!

The formula for this one is excellent and the brush is great. Needed however 3 coats to get that dizzy-ing depth that makes it so special.
It is not a holo, but it's got this absolutely amazing silver micro glitter inside, which gives it this depth that I'm talking about, and which is impossible to catch in an image...

Here are the pictures. I'm wearing 3 coats of Catrice Dirty Berry, no top coat.
I hope you'll enjoy this at least half as much I'm enjoying it!

Amazing, isn't it? ...*sigh*

Thank you Stéphanie, and thank you all for watching!

See ya soon!

OPI - Black Cherry Chutney

Hello everyone!

A quick post, just wanting to show you one of my loves: Black Cherry Chutney!
I have some oldies in my collection, which I really love, and Black Cherry Chutney is one of them. It is part of the India Collection OPI released for the spring in 2008! I know everybody knows it... but for me it will always be a reference.
I'm not entirely happy with my pictures, I think I'll never be. I have the feeling that a camera will never be able to catch of all its beauty. This polish is just amazing... It is a dark, shiny and vampy purple in the shade, and in the sun it's just enlightens itself from within... Gorgeous. Good application, very good formula, full coverage with 2 coats. The wear is very good and the shine is fabulous!

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Black Cherry Chutney, no top coat:

With flash

I think I'll re-swatch this another perfectly sunny day...

Have a nice day, everybody!

See ya soon!
Big hugs! ;)

PS: I'm sad that naisupplies.us raised all of their OPI prices... Have you seen that? From 5.75$./ OPI bottle, now it's 6.80$... Should not complain too much though: you triple that in order to get an idea of the OPI prices here in France.
