China Glaze - Ahoy!

Hello everyone!

How you've been doing? Here we are, on my favourite day of the week: Friday ;D An entire weekend ahead of me :)
To celebrate that, let me give you another pink polish! (the 5th in a row?)
We've had a few rays of sun light this morning in Toulouse, so I jumped on my Ahoy! and on my camera and here we are: the gorgeous China Glaze Ahoy! from the China Glaze spring 2011 collection.
It's a polish that has a lot in common with China Glaze Strawberry Fields. A lot, and I'll be doing a direct comparison in a next post.

This is wonderful pink, almost fuchsia pink with a lot of fuchsia shimmer inside it. it applies very well and for me it's opaque in 2 coats. The finish just wonderful! Shiny, smooth and sparky at the same time.
I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Ahoy!, no top coat:

And in direct sun light:

A blurry one so that you can see better this gorgeous spark..

I'll see you dearest follwers very soon!
Until then: big hugs! ;)

Orly Cupcake

Hello everyone!

So this is going to be very short post beacause I really have to go to work... Today I'm gonna quit my job so.. it's big day ;) Don't worry, I've got a better one starting in October  ;)

Now about the polish: this is another pink for my Pink Week ;):  Orly Cupcake.
Very, very cute light pink cream, with a touch of greay, which makes it look like pink sugar coat :D
The application was OK, not spectacular nut OK (I've seen better). It's opaque in 2 thick coats. I really love this colour, I'm sure I'm gonna wear it again!

Here are the pictures. Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Orly Cupcake, no top coat:

See ya soon!!!

Big hugs everyone! ;)

China Glaze - Strawberry Fields + ... strawberries ;)

Hello everyone,

My pink madness continues .. :D

Here is China glaze Strawberry Fields. The famous! Yes, I've seen this on many blogs, but the one that convinced me to buy it, was Liz's blog (Liquid Jelly). She also did some amazing stuff with this polish, one of which was my inspiration for today nail art part ;)

Strawberry Fields is indeed a gorgeous polish, a beautiful pink -> (straw)berry - pink! It makes me think of a strawberry sorbet :D Yum! :P And it's got this incredible gold shimmer in it that gives it a "sun kiss" and an unique spark. I just love it.
It applies well, but his younger brother Ahoy! applies a little bit better.
Too bad my nails are shorter right now...maybe the polish would look better if I had longer nails... I'll probably re-swatch it later.

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Strawberry Fields, no top coat (dries quickly!):

And here are the STRAWBERRIES! :D I felt like playing a bit with my polishes :D So for this design I've just used a thin painting brush... and nail polish! :)
For the "leafs" I used Deborah - I's Evergreen, and for the "seeds" I used Deborah again, but this time the shade called "Yellow Fiz" (swathed here, an Orly Lemonade dupe, but of better quality in my opinion).

Sorry about the picture spam ;)

Oh well, I guess I'll be doing a pink week, what do you think?  My pink mood is not over yet :D LOL
I also have to swatch China Glaze Ahoy! and I'll do a comparison between the two (they are very similar, but no, they are not dupes).

And oh, my sweetest followers, the ones who follow me and I don't follow you, please write me an e-mail or leave me a comment with the url of your blog. I usually look into your profiles to get the link to your blog. Some of you don't have it, so if you want, leave me a comment. It will be my pleasure to follow you too ;)

See ya soon!
Big hugs!!

Color Club - Space Case

Hello everyone,

I've been in a quite pinky mood lately :) .. don't know why, but I'm very attracted by this colour and it's all I want to wear at the moment!

Today I'm going to show you Color Club Space Case from the Starry Temptress collection.
Though the colour is really pretty and the silver glitter inside is very cute, I was quite disappointed by this polish. Firstly, the glitter is not uniformly distributed into the mass of the polish and I had to be careful on what spot of nail I apply the polish first, so that the glitter will get into that spot precisely...
Secondly, the glitter forms BUMPS on the surface of the nail! I know that normal glitter is bumpy, but this one has a mini-glitter and I think the bump-problem could've been solved in a way. On Mrs Hautie I thought it was a special effect, and it was nice in a wey... But on this one... I really hate it ! Maybe it's me, but in my opinion... it looks cheap and badly finished.

The application was tricky, as I told you, because of the uneven distribution of the glitter. Needs 2 coats for full opacity and wears well. In spite of the icky bumps, I really like this Barbie-pink colour and the effect of the silver mini-glitter inside it...

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Color Club Space Case + one coat of Seche Vite:

See the bumps I'm talking about? And I AM wearing top coat :)

Do you already own  this polish? Did you have the same "bumpy" problem? What do you think about it? Am I weired?

See ya soon!!
Big hugs everyone!

OPI - Steady As She Rose

Hello everyone,

Hope you've had a great Saturday! Me, I went shopping for sandals, because it's sales time here in France! And I've got myself 2 really cute pairs of sandals (one high healed, the other one flat).

Anyways, today I'm gonna show you the first polish I've got from the OPI Pirates Of the Caribbean collection: Steady As She Rose.
What a nice shade! I really love it! This is one of the reasons I've bought this collection! For the moment I'm really satisfied. It applies really well, and it's opaque in 2 coats. I think the drying time is very good, unexpectedly good. But I'm really crazy about the colour: is light pink, with a touch of violet, which makes it lilac-ish in a way, but there's also a bit of gray, so it's not very bright. Adorable and very wearable at the office.

Here are the pictures! I'm wearing 2 coats of OPI Steady As She Rose, no top coat:

And finally I've decided to add the face of a little (Caribbean :D) pirate on my ring! I've used Peggy Sage black pencil for the little head:

I'll try to make him smile the next time ;)

As I promised to Liz, I'll publish 3 pics of Titi, my parotlet  (2.5 years old, I have him since he was 6 week old...):

Playing with my bracelets

In his cage with his "ex", Orchidée (she flew away... that was a tragedy...)

LOVE LOVE LOVE : D <3 <3 <3

All rightie...I'm gonna go to sleep now...

See ya soon!
Big hugs!!!

Catrice - Sold Out Forever

Hello everyone,

Today is the 14th of July, French National Day (Bastille Day)! This is why I'm home and able to do a post! ;)
No, I'm not going to do a blue-white-red mani, because I don't have the time nor the nail condition (2 broken nails on my left hand, so back to short for a while :)).

These pictures were taken a week or so ago, as this week was very, very full and busy, so busy that I had to wear naked nails for several days in a row! :(

So here is Catrice Sold Out Forever, another lovely polish I've got from my swap with Stéphanie! It's a cute, cute light jade-green cream with a lot of micro emerald shimmer inside. Doesn't really show in the shade, but in the sun it's amazing! It is so delicate and the finish is so smooth!
The application is excellent, opaque in 2 coats, not streaky at all! Great formula for this one too! Love love love! :)

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Catrice Sold Out Forever, no top coat:

This was taken in the shade

Thank for watching everyone!
BIG HUGS!!!

See ya! ;)
