OPI Crown Me Already! - Miss Universe Collection

Hi there everyone,

Hope you're doing fine and that you're having a great weekend.
Today I'll show you another polish  from the Miss Universe Collection. It's basically a mix of silver micro-glitter, hex-glitter and some other medium-sized pieces of silver glitter, all in a clear base.
Of course, because of the clear base, you'll be needing 3 or 4 coats for opacity. I only did 2 here. Normally, IRL, the portions of nail that you obviously can see through the glitter in these pictures, is not so visible actually.
The application was OK for a glitter, and I gotta say that I really like the sparkle and the joy that this can bring to any mani when used as a top coat!

So, here I'm wearing 2 coats of OPI Crown Me Already!, no top coat:

In the sun
An over a dark base:

In conclusion:

Application: 4/5
Formula: 4/5
Finish: 4/5
Drying time: 4.5/5
Opacity: 4/5

Overall: 4.1/5

Thank you everyone for watching!

Dior - Purple Revolution

Hello everyone!

This was my birthday gift from Ruxi, back in September! This was my first Dior polish ever! I've swatched it then, but, I finally was not happy with the pictures, so I did it again ;)

What can I say about a Dior polish but try to find flaws to it :)? The formula is excellent, a bit on the thick side, but the brush is just perfect and makes the application a child-play, the colour is so beautiful and vampy, and rich (though I guess it's a dupe after OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, but I guess Dior's got a better formula )! If you've got the budget, I totally recommend this polish (about 22 euros/bottle).

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Dior Purple Revolution, no top coat (sooo shiny!!!):

In the shade

And, just for the fun, as the flackies are so "in" right now, I applied a layer of Nfu Oh 49 on top:

Mmm...! Love the looks of this combo! ;)

In conclusion:

Application: 5/5
Formula: 4.5/5
Finish: 5/5
Drying time: 4.5/5
Opacity: 5/5

Overall: 4.8/5

OPI - I Vant to Be A-Lone Star

Hello everyone,

As I said before, I'm really, really behind with my swatching... I have a lot of un-swatched polishes that I'd like to show! I know, normally I should be stating to swatch the 2012 spring collections, but instead... I'm doing 2011 spring! :)
I've only got 3 polishes from OPI Texas 2011 Spring collection: I Vant to Be A-Lone Star, Its' Totally Fort Woth it and Guy Meets Gel-veston... Not the greatest polishes ever, but somehow different!

So today it's time for OPI Vant to Be A-Lone Star.
I don't know exactly what the name means.. I guess it refers to the "Lone Star State" (Texas) but I don't know why is it spelled like this?
Anyway, back to the polish... The colour is a grey-ish baby blue, with silver shimmer inside. It looks almost frosted to me. The problem with this polish is that is SHEER... Here I'm wearing 3 coats of polish, and still got bald spots and VNL. This polish is however beautiful, and I think it would be even more beautiful maybe layered on an opaque nude creme. In spite of everything, I really like it!

And then I decided to add 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air on top... Everything changes instantly ! :D

Who'd knew? :) OPI Vant to Be A-Lone Star is an excellent base for Glitter in the Air ;)

In conclusion:

Application: 4/5
Formula: 2.5/5
Finish: 3.5/5
Drying time: 3/5
Opacity: 2/5

Overall: 3/5

OPI - Congeniality is My Middle Name - Miss Universe Collection

Hello everyone,

These pictures were taken in august, during the summer holidays, Bucarest...

I really loved this polish and is the only one my mother really liked - so now it's more than precious for me. Of course, at that time I still had my long-holidays-nails :)

I'd describe the colour as a berry base with fuchsia glass-fleck shimmer! Gorgeous. It does look a lot like The One that Got Away from the Katy Perry collection, but this one is a bit lighter and slightly more pink. I'll probably do a comparison later on this week. Opaque in 2 coats, it's a got a very good formula and dries very well.

So, here I'm wearing 2 coats of OPI Congeniality is My Middle Name + 1 coat of Seche Vite:

In conclusion:

Application: 5/5
Formula: 4/5
Finish: 4.5/5
Drying time: 4/5
Opacity: 4/5

Overall: 4.5/5

Orly - Nite Owl

Hello everyone,

Today I have for you one of my favourite polshes Orly has released in 2011!
I guess it's not something extremely spectacular like flakie polishes are ;) but I still think that this is a great creation. There are some other 3 or 4 Orly polishes from the last year that are on my shopping list (Fowl Play, Sea Gurl and Frisky), but I've decided to start out with this one.

Nite Owl (what a cute name!) is a taupe/café au lait cream with loads of silver microglitter inside. The effect is fabulous and the formula is great! It went right where I wanted and whan I wanted. I can't find a dupe for this one as much I'd scratch my head! :) Love it when this happens!
The drying time was also very ok, and the finish is impeccable. Opaque in 2 coats.

Her I'm wearing 2 coats of Orly - Nite Owl, no top coat:

In conclusion:

Application: 5/5
Formula: 4/5
Finish: 5/5
Drying time: 4/5
Opacity: 4/5

Overall: 4.4/5

OPI - A Little Nookie

Hello everyone,

Now this is a genuine winter swatch... no sunshine, not good light for good quality pictures, no nothing! I'm sorry for the low-quality pictures, but the light is very bad today. I have however chosen to swatch a little bit today because I happen to be at home and to have some time!

So I've decided to start swatchig all of my polish bottles I have since like more than a year ago and that I haven't swatched yet!

A Little Nookie is one the first OPI polishes I've ever purchased, I guess it was in my very fist big command, back in the fall of 2009. I have worn it 2 or 3 times, because is such a neat and neutral colour. I really love it! It is one of those black labeled OPIs that today are quite hard to find: A Little Nookie is part of the Sheer Romance Collection 2002! 2002!!! :) A polish from a collection released 10 years ago! Now that's an oldie. I didn't know when I bought it, but I'm happy I did ;)
It's got an adorable satin-like finish, is easy to work-with and the application is great. It is sheer indeed, as the collection name stipulates, but it builds up very well.
Here I'm wearing 3 coats of A Little Nookie, no top, and I think I could've used 2 more for full opacity. But I can't say that I dislike the VNL with this kind of shades (not like the "sorbets" from the Texas Collection!) . I think it was made to be like this, and it is very lovely.

In conclusion:
Formula: 4/5
Application: 5/5
Drying time: 4/5
Finish: 5/5
Opacity: N/A*

Overall:  4.5/5

Thank you for watching!

Hugs!!

* I've decided that announced sheer polishes will not be noted on their opacity, as from the beginning we know that there isn't supposed to be any!
