China Glaze - Electric Pineapple

Hope you've had a great weekend!

I guess I'm a little bit late with my swatches, people are already swatching fall collections and me, I'm not even close :) But, hey, we're still in July, I don't want to think of the fall yet! (even though we've got here a weather "de merde". One can easily think we're in October... pfff :) )
So, in order to get some positive thoughts and remember we're in the summer... I'll swatch for you today Electric Pineapple from China Glaze Inslad Escape collection (summer 2011). These pictures were taken a week ago, while we still had some sun and blue sky... *sigh*...

So, Electric Pineapple is a gorgeous yellowish green, very summery, very joyful.But,  I haven't found anything electric about this polish, is just bright.I think it look a lot like last year OPI's Fiercely Fiona. I don't have that one to do a comparison. I hope someone will do it, beacuse I'm really curious to see how these two would look side by side.
The application was pretty OK, the formula is good, but a little thick for my personal taste. 2 thick coats are enough for full opacity.
Here I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Electric Pineapple + 1 coat of Seche Vite:

Here I went a little fancy, and got into that "picasso mood" :) ... I only wanted to try out the scotch tapes technique and my dotting tool. ;) Not the best I could do, but anyhoozle, this is how it came out :

And before going to bed, for the fun, my sleeping bunny (oh, no, not "sleeping beauty" ) ;)

OPI - Not Like the Movies

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to start by saying a big welcome to all my new followers and thank you for following my little blog! And a huge thanks to all of you who have been there with me from the beginning, I'm so honoured to have you all here with me. Thank you for supporting me and for reading my nonsense!

Yes, Karen said in her description of my blog that I do a lot of swatches.. and, it's true, I do! :)  I love doing this, I love trying out new nail polishes and.. I love their finish, their perfection... It's great when you discover a great colour and the feeling of being in an awe watching it freshly painted on you nails! :) (OK, all right, all right: I admit it: I'm a nail polish junkie! :D)
So, about the same feeling I've had while doing my nails with OPI Not Like The Movies... ! Such an incredible polish!!!!!! I can't believe I've been having this baby in my stash since March, and only tried it once, on a nail, with a single coat and thought it wasn't so great... well, with 3 coats it is! I guess I was a little upset because nailetc sent me a mini bottle instead of the normal sized bottle I've paid for! Even though I pre-ordered it! (such a nonsense this pre-order thing!... I'll avoid nasty words to describe the "concept", but... I really did not appreciate it. I'm reeeeeally glad they don't do it any more!)

So back to the polish: it's a very, very beautiful green/purple duochrome, on a (quite sheer) metallic grey base. The wear and the drying time are remarkable! The look is soft and really, really wearable. I've actually worn this at the office, and got some male compliments about it (!). My male colleagues usually only like the true reds for a nail polish, and sometimes corals. They are absolutely not fans of green and blues. But this one really captured their attention: "OMG it changes colour !!!" :D LOL
Though I've tried hard, I don't think my pictures reflect the real beauty of this one...

So, here I'm wearing 3 coats of OPI Not Like the Movies + 1 coat of NailTek Quicken top coat:

Zoya Reva

+ COMPARISON VS. ZOYA SARAH

Hello everyone,

I was home today as this Monday in France is holiday. I planned to post a lot this weekend... but a little something happened to my computer which didn't allow its use whatsoever... I'll tell you more about it at the end of this post...

Fist of all, I'm going to show you Zoya Reva, from the Sunshine Collection (summer 2011).
This one has a very beautiful pink-red base - or maybe red-pink, beacuse it's however more red than pink, but you can definitely see the pink shade in it. Also, it is full of gold shimmer which gives it some golden and orange tones in some positions. This actually reminds me of a sunset!
It applies very well and you'll get full opacity with 2 coats.

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Zoya Reva, no top coat:

When I fist saw Reva in real life I immediately thought about Sarah, a shade that Zoya released for the Holidays in 2010! OK, they are not dupes, that's for sure, but they have something familiar... (no, no, it's not beacuse they're both called Zoya! ;)):

 Here are the two together (Sarah on the right and Reva on the left):

They are both red pinks. But, Reva is more pink and a bit shearer than Sarah. Sarah's base is richer and more covering than Reva.
Also, what is flagrant is that Reva has golden shimmer and Sarah has fuchsia shimmer in it.
But the aspect on the nail and the type of shimmer (glass shimmer) is the same.

In the end I like them both, they are definitely different, but just a bit! If you ask me, the big difference is the shimmer colour... Otherwise, I think that Zoya kinda repeats some successful polish formulas, changing them just a tad bit... the thing is that it's a little too soon guys, that's all ...

I also wanted to share with you the reason of the absence of posts on yesterday:

And the guilty one for this... is.........

GHITZOU!!!!! Yeah, yeah, you! And don't give me that surprised face...!

And because today is holiday, I had to take the tout of the city to find a store opened today! But I did find one, so I paid 15 euros (22$) for one single cable... + the gas...
Ok, I love my bunny... :)

Sinful Colors Thimbleberry

Hi everybody,

Back with yet abnother SInful Colors!
My friend Ruxi, says that I'm kinda OPI obsessed - not too far from being true, as most of my nail polishes are OPIs - but I haven't posted any yet. I'll surely will... no worries about that! ;)

So, about, Thimbleberry from Sinful Colors... In fact, I've bought this thinking it was a totally different colour!

Don't get me wrong, I love the colour they've sent me, I truly do, beacuse I'm totally into coral shades lately ;)? I'm just confused about the website... Maybe they should be warned that the picture they're showing doesn't correspond to the real thing? I don't know...
Anyway, again, as for all of the Sinful Colors I've tried, this one too has an excellent formula, applies like butter and dries quickly. And the colour is so charming and joyful. I loved wearing this!
