Orly - Nite Owl

Hello everyone,

Today I have for you one of my favourite polshes Orly has released in 2011!
I guess it's not something extremely spectacular like flakie polishes are ;) but I still think that this is a great creation. There are some other 3 or 4 Orly polishes from the last year that are on my shopping list (Fowl Play, Sea Gurl and Frisky), but I've decided to start out with this one.

Nite Owl (what a cute name!) is a taupe/café au lait cream with loads of silver microglitter inside. The effect is fabulous and the formula is great! It went right where I wanted and whan I wanted. I can't find a dupe for this one as much I'd scratch my head! :) Love it when this happens!
The drying time was also very ok, and the finish is impeccable. Opaque in 2 coats.

Her I'm wearing 2 coats of Orly - Nite Owl, no top coat:

In conclusion:

Application: 5/5
Formula: 4/5
Finish: 5/5
Drying time: 4/5
Opacity: 4/5

Overall: 4.4/5

Thank you everyone for watching!

Hugs!

Orly Cupcake

Hello everyone!

So this is going to be very short post beacause I really have to go to work... Today I'm gonna quit my job so.. it's big day ;) Don't worry, I've got a better one starting in October  ;)

Now about the polish: this is another pink for my Pink Week ;):  Orly Cupcake.
Very, very cute light pink cream, with a touch of greay, which makes it look like pink sugar coat :D
The application was OK, not spectacular nut OK (I've seen better). It's opaque in 2 thick coats. I really love this colour, I'm sure I'm gonna wear it again!

Here are the pictures. Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Orly Cupcake, no top coat:

See ya soon!!!

Big hugs everyone! ;)

Orly - Pure Porcelain

Hello everyone,

Today is such a gloomy day here in Toulouse... well, we can't complain because we've had 2 perfectly beautiful months without any rain... as result: drought. So, if it's gloomy, it should also rain. I hope.

Today I'll be showing you Orly' Pure porcelain. I know, I know, it's been swtached and re-swatched. I really like it, I like the finish and everything. I've got it because I saw it on other blogs and I really liked it. I've actually bought 2 polishes from the Precious Collection 2011: Pure Porcelain and Royal Velvet (true love polish!).
Pure Porcelain is a very nice nude cream polish, white based, with a touch of pink and another one of beige. Looks a bit like Essie Topless and Barefoot, but in a little lighter.
The polish is beautiful, the finish is porcelain like and you get it opaque in 2 coats. The application is however a little tricky. It is very streaky, so you need to manage your brush carefully. In the end the brush strokes get even by themselves, wish is lucky, because I couldn't do a good job with it!  Ok, not  a fan of this one's formula... But the result is quite ok, I'd say.

Here are the pictures. Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Orly Pure Porcelain, no top coat (remarkable shiny finish!):

With my jasmine

And with a coat of Sinful Colors California on the index and ring, for a touch of spark ;) :

And you know what? :) Yesterday I've ordered my first Konad tools (stamp + 4 discs) :D I'll probably have them on Saturday (not sure).  I'm so happy! ;)  :D :D

Big hugs for you! Have nice day!
See ya! ;)

Orly Royal Velvet

... OR ROYAL VELVET FOR A ROYAL DAY! ;)

 Hello everyone!

What better polish to show on the day of the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton than Orly Royal Velvet???
Oh, gorgeousness!!!
This is definitely one of the most beautiful polishes I've ever seen!!

It's number two on my list of favourite polishes ever. I'll present to you my number one in a future post ;)

I've taken a zillion of pictures of it, trying to capture all of its beauty... I don't know if I've managed to do that, you'll tell me ;)

About the polish:
I's a beautiful purple base with an incredibly sparkling duochromed blue-purple shimmer.
Everything about this polish is great: application (like butter), opacity (2 coats), wear (prefect - 3 days and not even the slightest tip wear!), shine, enchantment, everything... I couldn't stop watching my nails!
And in the sun you realize the depth of this jewel... it's like it has several levels.
Ok, I'm in love ... :)

I'm going to stop my rambling here and let you take a look at the pictures!

In shade:

 In the sun:

Look at that duochromed shimmer!!!

 With flash:

Just one word: WOW!

PS: just wandering... what polish do you think Princess Catherine was wearing for her marriage????
(ok, ok, I'm a nail polish junkie, I know ;) )

Kisses everybody! ;)

Orly It's Not Rocket Science

Not at all, but this one is really great!

It's Not Rocket Science of part of the famous Cosmic FX collection.
I've ordered the Space Cadet too at the same time, but it never reached me.. they were "out of stock" on nailetc. They always get out of stock of something... you get refunded, but I really hate it when they tell me that they are out of stock of something, and when I go to their site, the product is still there, no problem to add it into your basket, order, and pay for it!! Geez... I don't know what to beleive. Either there is a huge lack of management of stocks and web site, or... the paranoid version: they don't send you the whole command if id exceeds a certain weight or amount... even though you paid for it! Never mind...

Let's get back to the nail polish! Which I loved, by the way!
The formula is really nice, yellow green base with green-golden glitter! Very, very beautiful effect.
I've worn this at the office (oh my! :) )and unfortunately it didn't have that much of a success... but I like it, so doesn't matter ;)Vey good drying time, excellent wear.

Here are the pictures:

I have also done a comparison between It's Not Rocket Science and China Glaze Zombie Zest.

Here I have one coat of each, on my index: It's Not Rocket Science and on my middle finger: Zombie Zest:

Orly totally wins the competition in my opinion! Look at that sheerness for Zombie Zest...!

The same with two coats of each:

Two coats and still have a VVNL (Very Visible Nail Line! :) ) for the Zombie Zest!
But i Think that after 3 coats (4 coats for Zombie Zest..), these 2 girls are dupes.

What do you think?
