Essie - Navigate Her

Hello everyone,

I'm really behind with all the collections... Now I'm ill (but well enough to post this!) and I take advantage of this situation and post everything I can and is waiting to be published!! :)

From Essie navigate Her 2012 spring collection I've picked up the minis and now I'm waiting for A Crewed Interest to be available again on the website where I shop...
From the 4 minis I've only worn and swatched Navigate Her - until now :) The rest will surely come a little bit later.
Unfortunately I'm not very proud of the pictures quality nor of the mani itself... The cleanup was not one of my best and my cuticles were in a very bad shape... Sorry for that.

Anyways, I won't go into details with this colour as I guess most of you if not own it, at least already know it from other blogs.
I have to say that I liked this colour a lot, but the big disappointment is that this kind of green doesn't look good on me. Really. It makes my hands look "ill"...

Also, I've had a problem with the chipping. This never made it to 24h without chipping, which is very bad even from a low quality polish. My friend Ruxi also told me that some of the latest Essie polishes have this problem... No comment.

So, here I'm wearing 2 coats of Essie Navigate Her + 1 coat of Seche Vite:

Because of the chipping problem I've had with this one, I decided to add a new criterion on my "polish grading system" ;): Wear.
I'll probably not consider it every time, because I don't always wear all the polishes I swatch...

In conclusion:

Application: 4.0/5
Formula: 4.0/5
Finish: 4.0/5
Drying time: 4.0/5
Opacity: 5.0/5
Wear: 1.0/5.0

Overall: 3.7/5

Thank you everyone for watching!

Misa - Like it Like That

Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend! Here in Toulouse it finally started to get warmer after 2 weeks of constant temperatures bellow zero!... i'm not going to bother you again with my poor avocado-tree that got frozen after a night outside at -10°C because I feel so guilty!!... :) So I'll get to the polish now ;)

Today I'll be showing you the only Misa nail polish in my collection. I think it is a very nice colour, while I find it very difficult to wear and to match my accessories or outfits.
This polish is a blueish emerald green, with a very surprising mix between frost and shimmery finish. The shimmer gives it a very nice golden sparkle when the light hits it and it is so shiny! It is very spectacular without being neon or glitter.
The formula for this one is good, but the only thing that bothers me a little are the brush strokes traces... This is my only negative point for this one, but I guess it's only a personal opinion, some people may totally ignore it and like the polish for what it is!
The drying time is correct.

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Misa - Like It Like That, no top coat.
Note that the colour is actually a bit greener in reality than my pictures show it. Very hard to capture!

In the sun

In the shade

In conclusion:

Application: 3.5/5
Formula: 3.5/5
Finish: 3.0/5
Drying time: 4.0/5
Opacity: 4.0/5

Overall: 3.6/5

Thank you everyone for watching!

China Glaze - Glittering Garland

Hello everyone,

This is one of the 2 polishes I've purchased from China Glaze's Let it Snow 2011 winter collection. I've also got Tinsel town, but... it is still amongst my "untrieds"...

Glittering Garland is a must have, in my opinion! It is one of the most beautiful greens I've ever seen! Not a joke. Ans i do have a few greens in my collection ;)
It's a deep, rich Christmas-tree-green, with light green/gold duochrome flecks! The effect is superb.
Two coats are enough for full opacity, the application is great and it dries fast! What more do we need? ;)

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze - Glittering garland, no top coat:

In conclusion:

Application: 5/5
Formula: 4.5/5
Finish: 5/5
Drying time: 4.5/5
Opacity: 4.5/5

Overall: 4.7/5

Thank you everyone for watching!

OPI - Jade Is the New Black + stamping

Hello everyone,

How you've been doing? Me, I'm just too busy these days but I miss blogging. I barely have the time to do my nails and going to the office with naked nails is becoming a regular basis...Not good! I need to get organized here ;)

So this is a little oldie I've got for you today! It's the famous OPI Jade is the New Black released with the Hong Kong collection for the spring, in 2010.
And it's really one of the most beautiful greens ever! I'm a huge fan of this polish and I'd wear it more often, but... it's really, really not work appropriate. It's too beautiful to be work appropriate! :)
It applies very smoothly and is perfectly opaque in 2 coats. The finish is gorgeously shiny... I truly adore it! And weirdly, I think it looks well on my fair skin tone!
So here I'm wearing 2 coats of OPI Jade Is the New Black, no top coat. The first 4 pictures were taken in the sun:

And the next 3 in the shade:

I've been practising my stamping with my new Claire's french manicure white.. so this is what came out of it. Not great, I still have to work this out, but I'm getting better - I think ;P )

Thank you everyone for wathcing!

See ya soon!

OPI - Stranger Tides + pirate face ;)

Hello everyone,

I'd like to start with a BIG THANK YOU, to all of you who participated to my first giveaway! It was a real pleasure for me and I had great fun! I'm used to work with Excel so, it was not so much time consuming after all ;) I got to see so many different blogs and to know  lot of people. I'm surely going to do this again.

Today I've got for you a 3rd polish from the Pirates Of the Caribbean collection: OPI Stranger Tides. From the moment I've seen the add for the fist time, this has been a great lemming! I thought it was going to be my favourite of the collection... And it really is a very, very nice colour, but it looks so "meh" on me! Really not flattering with my skin tone. A lot of colours suit me, but not this one... I'm disappointed.
Yet, the colour is GREAT! (however, Essie Da Bush is a perfect dupe for this one)
The formula is good, but a bit watery, but that is the same for all the polishes in this collection. The application is OK too, and is opaque in two coats.

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of OPI Stranger Tides, no top coat:

And now, here is the little pirate dedicated to this polish! Again, I used Paggy Sage's nail art pen (black) and for the bandanna I used Misa - Like It Like That.

Thank you so much for watching!

See ya soon!

Deborah - It's Evergreen

Hello everyone,

Hope your day was fine! Me, I'm happy we're getting closer to the weekend ;)
This is the second Deborah nail polish that I've purchased. And I'm so happy I did, because I'm truly amazed by the quality and by the beauty of these little babies. Even though the brand is called Deborah Milano, it is actually made in France. It comes in cute little 4.5 ml bottles and several colours are available ;) Me, I already have Yellow Fiz , It's evergreen, and Stardust (not swatched yet). I get them from Monoprix and are sold for the price of 4.90 euros (kinda expensive for the 4.5 ml...).

The base colour for this one is "leaf" green with huge quantity of gold micro-shimmer. The finish is a little frosty, which give it this "sugar-candy" look! Adorable! I really really love it! And so unique, I'd say! I couldn't find any dupe for it.
I'm sorry,  the pictures are little dark, but it's because of the bad weather we've had here in the past 10 days... But, anyway.. I'll let you see them ;)
Oh, I forgot: I'm wearing 2 coats of Deborah Milano, no top coat. ;)

And because it looks so much like a grass field.. I thought I'd add some flowers ;)  I firstly used Konad, but the flowers were sooo... sheer, I decided to fill in the gaps, and re-draw the petals. There's a little spot I've missed (sorry about that, but I got tricked by the bad light...!). For the petals I used Deborah  - Yellow Fiz (an Orly Lemonade dupe, but of better quality) and for the middle I used China Glaze  - Strawberry Fields:

Thank you so much for watching!!!

China Glaze - Electric Pineapple

Hello everyone,

Hope you've had a great weekend!

I guess I'm a little bit late with my swatches, people are already swatching fall collections and me, I'm not even close :) But, hey, we're still in July, I don't want to think of the fall yet! (even though we've got here a weather "de merde". One can easily think we're in October... pfff :) )
So, in order to get some positive thoughts and remember we're in the summer... I'll swatch for you today Electric Pineapple from China Glaze Inslad Escape collection (summer 2011). These pictures were taken a week ago, while we still had some sun and blue sky... *sigh*...

So, Electric Pineapple is a gorgeous yellowish green, very summery, very joyful. But,  I haven't found anything electric about this polish, is just bright.I think it look a lot like last year OPI's Fiercely Fiona. I don't have that one to do a comparison. I hope someone will do it, beacuse I'm really curious to see how these two would look side by side.
The application was pretty OK, the formula is good, but a little thick for my personal taste. 2 thick coats are enough for full opacity.
Here I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Electric Pineapple + 1 coat of Seche Vite:

Here I went a little fancy, and got into that "picasso mood" :) ... I only wanted to try out the scotch tapes technique and my dotting tool. ;) Not the best I could do, but anyhoozle, this is how it came out :

Oh yes, I used Sinful Colors-  Innocent, Zoya - Apple and Color Club - The Lime Starts Here.

And before going to bed, for the fun, my sleeping bunny (oh, no, not "sleeping beauty" ) ;)

Snorrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :D
LOL! ;)
Good night everyone!

BIG HUGS!

Catrice - Sold Out Forever

Hello everyone,

Today is the 14th of July, French National Day (Bastille Day)! This is why I'm home and able to do a post! ;)
No, I'm not going to do a blue-white-red mani, because I don't have the time nor the nail condition (2 broken nails on my left hand, so back to short for a while :)).

These pictures were taken a week or so ago, as this week was very, very full and busy, so busy that I had to wear naked nails for several days in a row! :(

So here is Catrice Sold Out Forever, another lovely polish I've got from my swap with Stéphanie! It's a cute, cute light jade-green cream with a lot of micro emerald shimmer inside. Doesn't really show in the shade, but in the sun it's amazing! It is so delicate and the finish is so smooth!
The application is excellent, opaque in 2 coats, not streaky at all! Great formula for this one too! Love love love! :)

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Catrice Sold Out Forever, no top coat:

This was taken in the shade

Thank for watching everyone!
BIG HUGS!!!

See ya! ;)
