Color Club - Ms Hautie

Hello everyone,

The sun is finally here and I'm going to wear sandals again! ;) I love wearing sandals because they are usually very comfortable and.. I can show 2 nail polishes at once: one on my fingers and another one on my toes :P.

But the pictures here-bellow were taken a few days ago, when we had 16 °C and rainy weather... So the brightness is not really there.
So here is the famous Ms Hautie. I believe this one was the subject of much controversy and the opinions are very different. You'll see in th pictures bellow that the finish is very... unusual.
In fact, I've never chosen this polish, it was sent to me by mbeautylounge instead of Wild At Heart, I don't know why. I really hated that they've changed my command. I don't know what to prefer: not sending a polish at all or sending something else instead?
Anyways, the polish applies ok, though the formula is a bit runny. It is definitely opaque in 2 cots. The thing about it is that it has this finish making the nails looking like roughly finished concrete. It's like they've added some sand inside the polish. The thing is that before it is dry, you don't see the the little "sand".. it only shows itself after the polish is dry.
The colour is concrete, stormy gray, with pink and blue shimmer inside. But on the nail I couldn't really notice the shimmer, it is only visible in the bottle.

Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Ms Hautie, no top coat:

I'm not sure if I like it or not. But I think that this was however a nice try in order to obtain something different and I applaud the initiative. I mean we are always complaining that all the polishes coming out right now are "déjà vus", "already seen this" and "dupes". So this polish is indeed very different of what I've seen until now. It may not be the most elegant and shiny, but it surely is original. I think I'll may be wearing it from time to time. And I do not regret that mbeautylounge snet it to me ;)

Now let's see what a coat of OPI Lats Friday Night can do to it :

Posing near my blue hydrangea ;)

I think it's not bad at all. What do you think?

See ya soon !
Hugs everyone!

  1. I like it on its own and when layered. Nice :-) But I hope you'll be getting Wild At Heart too!

  2. Thank you, Laura! I'll order Wild AT Heart, but not on mbeautylounge ;) I'll stick to transdesign nailsupplies, and nailetc. These guys are serious.
    Hugs! ;)

  3. It almost looks like Ms. Hautie bubbled. I like it best with the glitter topcoat because it seems to hide the bumps. Too bad the shimmer doesn't translate well onto the nail.

  4. Well, yes, this was my intention too: create an optical illusion in order to hide the bumps. I guess it's working ;)

  9. Speaking of Ms. Hautie, I also have this color and the same fault - looking like concrete to me (I'm working in cement/concrete industry, I know how it looks:)) and almost no sparkles (seen only inside the bottle).
So I thought it's went bad because of storing conditions in the shop or sth, but see you have the same.
Anyway, as for me, if it's an effect, I'd call it a defect. I'm dissapointed with this particular color.

  10. I know there are many people who dislike this polish and the concrete "effect". Me, I don't truly like the polish itself, but I do like the idea and the originality of the product. But, yes, they could've done better ;)
